  • Usage Method of Silicone Gel BTY-5415A/B

    • Surface Treatment

All substrates to be constructed shall undergo a surface cleaning process to ensure the normal curing of the silicone gel. Substances that cause abnormal curing of silicone gel mainly include sulfur-containing substances, plasticizers, polyurethane, amine-containing substances, phosphorus-containing substances and organometallic compounds (such as tin, lead). When it is unknown whether there are catalyst poisons on the substrate surface, a small amount of substrate should be selected for a curing test

    • Mixing

Component A of BTY-5415A/B contains a catalyst, and Component B contains a crosslinking agent. The two components can be mixed in the required ratio by volume ratio or mass ratio. Bubbles will be generated during mixing or dispensing, so a vacuum degassing process is required for degassing.。

    • Curing

The curing conditions of BTY-5415A/B can be adjusted according to actual working conditions. Coated dressings can be cured under conditions such as 120℃/8min, 100℃/10min, 80℃/15min.

    Packaging Specifications

A:15KG per drum; B:15KG per drum

A:180KG per drum; B:180KG per drum

    Storage

BTY-5415A/B, kept in the sealed original packaging from the factory, can be stored for at least 6 months at 5-30℃. If the product exceeds the shelf life, it can be used with caution after passing the key quality inspection.

    Precautions

1.BTY-5415A/B must be ensured not to have direct contact with catalyst poisons such as phosphorus (P), sulfur (S), nitrogen (N), organotin (Sn), water, polyurethane, acrylate compounds during use and storage, so as to avoid curing inhibition and deterioration.

2.Only Component A and Component B with the same batch number can be mixed for use.

3.When mixing adhesive manually, pay attention to the cleanliness of the mixing tools, and especially avoid contaminating Component A or Component B in the adhesive drums through the mixing tools.

4.Use the mixed adhesive as soon as possible within the specified time; generally, manually mixed adhesive should be used up within 40 minutes; for the adhesive in the automatic mixing machine, pay attention to regular discharging of the adhesive, otherwise it is easy to cause the adhesive not to cure.

5.BTY-5415A/B is sensitive to heat, so high temperature should be avoided as much as possible during storage and operation; after use, the remaining adhesive of Component A and Component B cannot be poured back into the original packaging to avoid contaminating the unused adhesive.

6.After mixing the two components of BTY-5415A/B, it will slowly cure into a gel at room temperature. Before use, the usage amount should be determined and the product should be weighed to avoid waste.

7.If the gel is too soft or sticky, the gel with higher hardness and lower tack can be obtained by increasing the dosage of Component B.

8.If the product needs to be dyed, the required dyes can be added to this product and mixed evenly to obtain silicone gels of different colors.
