Betely's New Material Is Quietly Replacing Traditional Leather

    The shortcomings of traditional PVC and PU artificial leather in production technology and environmental performance have become increasingly prominent. A new type of eco-friendly leather—silicone leather, made from silicon-based polymers—is rapidly emerging in home furniture, automotive interiors, medical and health fields with its outstanding performance. As a core component of this new material system, the R&D and application of silicone leather adhesives have become a key driver of the industry’s green transformation.

     

    From Silicon Element to High-End Leather

    The production of silicone leather is based on the hydrosilylation reaction, which requires no solvents throughout the process, completely eliminating VOC emissions commonly found in traditional synthetic leather production. It is a typical green chemical process. We have developed a series of silicone leather adhesives for different structural layers, each with its own focus:

     

    • HSMT-12XXX Silicone Synthetic Leather Matte Oil (Top Coat): Acts as the leather’s "protective coat", scratch-resistant and stain-resistant, with adjustable gloss when paired with bright oil.

    • BQ-1086-8XXX Handfeel Adhesive (Surface Layer): Determines the touch and appearance of the leather. It offers moderate hardness after curing, a smooth handfeel, and excellent wear resistance.

    • BQ-1082-5XXX Intermediate Layer: Focuses on wear resistance and tear resistance, featuring fast curing and high strength to provide solid middle-layer support.

    • BQ-1082-4XXX Bonding Layer: Connects the base fabric and functional layers, boasting high elongation and outstanding bonding strength to ensure firm adhesion between the coating and textile substrate.
